which team should i join?
Assists Director of Programming in successful execution of panels, gaming tournaments, after-hours events, cosplay show, auction, and any other programming events during the convention.
Assists convention attendees in registering for the event, whether they are cash/credit sales, or a pre-registration attendee. Do note that this team does require heavy use of computers, ticketing platforms, and payment processing. Prior knowledge is recommended, but not required.
Facilitates purchase of convention merchandise and special guest autographs.
Addresses all walk-up questions about the convention, registers all other kinds of attendees (volunteers, panelists, media, cosplay groups, special guests), and peace-bonds all cosplay props.
badge access team
Monitors access points of the convention, checks for attendee badges, and answers simple questions about locations, panels, and activities.
Helps Director of Technology set up all audio/visual needs in panel rooms, vendor hall, gaming areas, arcade area, and stage. Please mention if you have any experience (personal or professional) in networking, information systems, wireless, ticketing platforms, communications, AV systems, etc. This is a tightly-knit team that requires communication before the event to coordinate tasks.
Helps the Director of Programming with his/her tasks, including the cosplay show, cosplay group & other club tables, maintaining the cosplayer's staging area, and other cosplay-related concerns.
Helps Exhibitor Hall Manager maintain the order of the convention by assisting with load in and out, electricity and other convention center assets, vehicle staging, and other physical logistic concerns.
Participates in "street team" activities in the months before the convention, distributes flyers at various locations, and assists in populating social media outlets with posts and content.
guest liaison team
Assists the Director of Marketing in ensuring a successful guest experience. Is in charge of special guest needs, including but not limited to "running" for food and beverage, panel scheduling, restroom breaks, hotel accommodations, travel, and other guest needs or concerns. This is a small team and has very limited seats available.
