Super SMash Bros Ultimate and Melee

SAK Gaming will be hosting Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Melee at Game On Expo.

FRIDAY August 9th

-Free to enter double-elimination tournaments for both Melee and Ultimate capped at 64 entrants. The tournaments will begin at 5 pm and will end at 8:30 pm. You can sign up for free at the SAK Booth!

SATURDAY August 10th

-Paid Ultimate tournament! $15 entry fee.
-The event will be double elimination, with the following schedule:

Wave A Singles Begin: 11:00 am
Wave B Singles Begin: 12:30 pm
Wave C Singles Begin, Top 32 Wave C Begins: 2:00 pm
Wave D Top 32 Begins: 3:30 pm
Wave E Top 8: 4:30 pm
Tournament Ends: 7:00 pm

-When you register for the event, you will be placed in one of three groups. All you have to do is show up and play at the designated time - if you advance on to the next phase, you can go enjoy the rest of the con and then return when it's time for you to play again!

SUNDAY August 11th

-A free to enter double-elimination Ultimate tournament capped at 64 entrants. The tournament will begin at 1 pm and will end at 5 pm. You can sign up for free at the SAK Booth!

-A paid entry, double-elimination Melee tournament. $15 entry fee.
-The event will be double elimination, and will begin at 1 pm.

Mortal Kombat 11 & Tekken 7

The Gaming Zone will be hosting both Mortal Kombat 11 and Tekken 7 tournaments.

SATURDAY August 10th:

Tekken 7 = 2pm Free
Mortal Kombat 11 = 4pm Free



Dragon Ball FighterZ & Street Fighter V Arcade Edition

The Gaming Zone will be hosting both Dragon Ball FighterZ and Street Fighter V Arcade Edition tournaments.

SUNDAY August 11th:

Dragon Ball FighterZ = 2pm Free
Street Fighter V Arcade Edition = 4pm Free

Fortnite (PC)

Fortnite Tournaments will be hosted by E-Gear, and played on PC. Sign up at the booth, Saturday August 10th, or pre-register at at The tournament starts on Saturday the 10th from 12PM to 7PM. Entry fee $15. Do you have what it takes to win? When you preregister for the Fortnite tournament on Saturday, you’ll receive a unique discount code good for $10 off a full event pass.


Friday-Open to play (Apex, League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch and much more) -$5 for 30 min

Saturday-Fortnite Tournaments- $15 entry fee.


Battle Royale - Most Kills

  • The team which ends the Battle Royale round with the most kills shall win the map.

  • Kills made after a match has concluded will not count.

  • A match is considered concluded once all players from both teams have died.

Example: Players A,B, and C are all dead. Player D is still standing. If Player A gets a kill, that kill will count towards the team's overall score. The second that player D dies, no other kills that occur after Player D's death will be counted

Battle Royale - Most Kills

In the event of a tie, the following tie breaker rules shall be followed:

  • Players will jump into another match and play until a winner is crowned

Sunday- Open to play (Apex, League of Legends, Fortnite, Overwatch and much more) -$5 for 30 min.

You can bring your own Xbox One or PS4 controller to use as well.

5th Annual Retro World Championships

The 5th annual Game On Expo Retro Championships is returning, and the champion will earn the coveted Game On Expo Retro Champion Title Belt. The competition starts with the fastest time on Mario 64 for the N64. The 8 finalists will play each game starting with the player with the 8th best Mario Kart time. They will earn points based on where they place in each game and the cumulative total will determine our 2019 Retro Championships winner.

Round 1 - Daytona USA (Sega Saturn)

Round 2 - Viewpoint (Neo Geo)

Round 3 - Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (Playstation)

Round 4 - Symphony of the Night (Playstation)

Round 5 - Blast Corps (Nintendo 64)

Street Fighter Tournaments

Street Fighter fans prepare for some epic tournaments at Game On Expo this year. Fire Mountain Dojo will be hosting four different Street Fighter tournaments throughout the event. Each game will be played on original arcade boards connected to a Super Gun and displayed on a PVM. Competitors can bring their own fight sticks, but some will be provided.


  • Friday August 9th: Street Fighter Alpha 3 at 3pm. Free

  • Saturday August 10th: Super Street Fighter II Turbo at 1pm. Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting at 5pm. Free

  • Sunday August 11th: 3rd Strike at 12pm. Free

Classic Tetris World Championship Desert Qualifier

The Classic Tetris World Championship Desert Qualifier is returning to Game On Expo this year. The winner wins a flight and hotel stay to Portland, OR to compete in the finals at the Portland Retro Gaming Expo later this year!
